I do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data. However, manuscripts or documents submitted for editing may contain personal information provided by the client.

• Send newsletters, updates, and check-ins (typically once a month, no more than once a week)

• Respond to your inquiries submitted via the contact forms

• Provide, manage, and deliver editing services, including communication regarding manuscripts, quotes, and project delivery

Your personal information will not be sold or used for advertising purposes. It is only shared where necessary to provide services, operate systems, or comply with legal obligations. Personal information is processed based on consent (newsletter subscriptions), contract performance (editing services), and legitimate interests (business operations and communication).

3. Editing Services

​When you engage my editing services, I may receive manuscripts, documents, or other materials for the purpose of providing editorial services. These materials are treated as confidential and are used solely to deliver the requested service.

Client materials are not shared, sold, or used for any purpose other than completing the agreed editing work, unless permission is given or required by law.

Payments for editing services are made via EFT (electronic funds transfer). Payment details are not processed through this website and are handled directly between the client and myself.

Client materials and the correspondence relating to such materials are retained only for as long as necessary to complete the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

4. Third-Party Services

The following services are used to help operate my website and mailing list:

• Wix for website hosting and newsletter delivery

• MailerLite for subscriber management, email delivery, and email engagement tracking

• Social links, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Goodreads, LinkedIn, SoundCloud, Pinterest, Spotify, and the Professional Editors’ Guild

MailerLite acts as my email service provider and data processor. Your subscriber information (name and email address) is stored securely on MailerLite’s servers, which are located in the European Union (EU) and/or the United States, depending on account settings. MailerLite complies with GDPR and other applicable privacy regulations.

My newsletters sent via MailerLite may include email engagement tracking, including whether an email has been opened and how subscribers interact with links. This information is used solely to help me understand which content is most engaging, improve my newsletters, and optimise future communications. No personal information is shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

Some pages may include embedded content from third-party platforms, such as YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, or other media providers. Embedded content may allow those third-party providers to collect usage data and set cookies as if you had visited their website directly, in accordance with their own privacy policies. I do not control the data collection practices of these third-party services.​

Beyond the description above, I do not provide your personal information to these third-party platforms. If you choose to interact with their features (for example, clicking a social link), any data you provide will be handled according to their own privacy policies.​

 

5. Cookies and Tracking

My site uses basic Wix cookies to ensure proper functionality. Refusing or disabling cookies may prevent some parts of the site from working correctly.

MailerLite also uses tracking technologies in emails (for example, tracking whether an email has been opened or a link clicked). This helps me understand which content is most relevant to subscribers. You may disable image loading in your email client or unsubscribe if you prefer not to be tracked in this way.

My content is aimed at and above the upper YA (approximately 15–18 years old) audiences, and thus may include themes intended for older teens and adults. If you are under the age of 18, please review this privacy policy with a parent or guardian before subscribing. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

All reasonable measures are taken to protect your personal information. While no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, appropriate administrative and technical safeguards are used, including those provided by Wix and MailerLite.
